The Chorus performs at two major concerts per year (free to the public), performances for Ankeny's Summer Sounds programs in the Ankeny Band Shell, the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Social, and represents Ankeny in a performance at the Iowa State Fair.
COVID-19 schedule update:
The Ankeny Community Chorus board has again voted to cancel the upcoming rehearsal season (August-November 2020).
Our group gave much thought to the safety of our members, the communities in which they live, our audiences, and the availability of spaces to convene to rehearse and perform. It was decided to approach these same concerns in November, to discuss the possibility of reconvening in 2021, instead.
As dispiriting as it is to suspend another season of music-making, we want our community to know that we are still here and are ever looking forward to the time when we will be able to safely resume. Thank you to those who have been concerned for us and to all who will be waiting to see us again. We miss singing for you!
