No audio files at this time ... when we DO have some, the following instructions will apply.

Notes and Instructions:

How this will work for you depends on your computer -- no two are the same. Most computers of recent vintage are able to play mp3 files - for example, Windows Media Player, will play the files. You should be able to play it directly from this website, too, using Windows Internet Explorer. That of course, means that you will have to be connected to the Internet while you listen.

So, here are your choices:

  1. To download to your computer: Point at the link for the target file, right-click your mouse, and click "Save Target As...." A dialog window will open, allowing you to define where on your computer you wish to save the file ("Desktop" is a good choice for initially finding the file easily; you can store it wherever else you want later.). Remember, download is dependant on your connection speed, so the amount of time will vary accordingly, from seconds to minutes for each file.
    1. Once the mp3 file is on your computer, your computer probably has playback software that will play the mp3 file as soon as you double-click the file.
    2. If you have the capability to write a music CD on your computer, then you can write the files to a CD, and then play the CD like any other music CD.
  2. To play the file directly from the website: Point at the link for the target file, and left-click your mouse. The file should start playing shortly.

A sample of sounds of the ACC

Last year we presented There Will Be Rest, in our holiday concert. The music was composed by Frank Ticheli, with words based on a poem by Sara Teasdale. The music was published in 2000. The poem was first printed in 1931. Click the underlined title name above to listen to a recording of the Ankeny Community Chorus performing this moving music. Enjoy!
